RESOLUTION
Honoring the Indian American Friendship Council.

1990 with a commitment to promoting relations between the United States
and India, the two largest democracies in the world;
Whereas since its inception, the Indian American Friendship Council has
been successful in carrying out its mission of improving United States-India
relations, supporting developing countries, promoting global democracy,
protecting the interests of the Indian-American community, and educating
Members of Congress;
Whereas over the years, the Indian American Friendship Council has been
the Indian-American organization in the vanguard of representing the Indian-American
community and fostering relationships between Members of Congress and
Indian-Americans nationwide;
Whereas, in particular, the Council has been instrumental in moving forward
efforts ranging from rebuilding Gujarat following the disastrous earthquake,
to supporting the fight against terrorism following the September 11,
2001, attacks in the United States and the December 13, 2001, attack on
the Indian Parliament;
Whereas as the Indian American Friendship Council continues to honor
its mission for years to come, it is only under the outstanding leadership
of Dr. Krishna Reddy, founder and president of the Indian American Friendship
Council, that the Council will continue to be as successful as it has
been since its creation; and
Whereas the Members of the Indian American Friendship Council and its
friends pay tribute to Dr. Reddy´s dedicated service, expertise,
and loyalty to improving relations between the two largest democracies
in the world, the United States and India: Now, therefore, be it
